During the festival period, tourists flock to the area to experience the benefits of Boryeong's mud while having a blast.
Fully immersed in both the mud and the festival’s great atmosphere, visitors enjoy mud wrestling, mud sliding, and even swimming in the giant mud bath.
Visitors feeling particularly energetic can try the marine mud-training course, while those looking for something more relaxing can chill in the mud massage zone.
In the evening, music and fireworks continue to have the party going at the beach.

Andong Mask Dance Festival

Introduction
Andong Mask Dance Festival is held in the Andong area, which is
considered the capital of Korean traditional culture, with the
theme of mask and mask dance. Andong’s culture and
religions have great value for remaining over the years with
the various cultures intact. Therefore, Andong is the region
which has the most of cultural heritages and boasts the
beauty of the East alike.

Introduction
Boseong is considered the birthplace of the commercial tea
industry and is the largest producer of tea in the country.
At the Boseong Green Tea Festival, some of the most
popular festival events (most of which are held out in the
green tea fields) are the hands-on experience programs
such as picking tea leaves, making tea, and sampling green
tea snacks. Other events such as the tea exhibition & sale,
and a number of celebratory performances are also
scheduled to be held during the festival period.

Muju Firefly Festival

Introduction
The Muju Firefly Festival takes place in the pure
environment of Muju, a natural habitat for fireflies and the
marsh snails the fireflies feed on. The festival offers many
attractions and activities but the highlight of the festival
starts after 8:00 pm when the fireflies begin to light up the

The Yeongju Seonbi Culture Festival takes place from early to
mid May every year at the Seonbichon Village and Korean
Seonbi Culture Training Center in Sunheung-myeon,

Jinju Namgang Yudeung(Lantern) Festival

Introduction
Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival originates from the lantern
lighting custom used during the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle of
the Imjinwaeran War (Japanese invasion, 1592) as a military
strategy to prevent Japanese troops from wading the Namgang
River. The highlights of the festival are the floating of lanterns
carrying personal wishes of the citizens along the Namgang
River, and the parade of lanterns created by the students
themselves. In addition, the festival features gaejesik (lighting
of lanterns in remembrance of the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle
veterans), an exhibition of the world’s traditional lanterns, and
many more participatory cultural programs.
